Paris Agios MD, Phd
Dr. Paris Agios is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist with a special interest in Paediatric Anaesthesia. He graduated in 2006 from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He gained most of his training experience in the United Kingdom, where from 2007 to 2013, he worked at several hospitals, including Medway Maritime Hospital, Royal United Hospital of Bath, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Princess Royal Hospital and Croydon University Hospital.
During his training in the UK, he also gained significant experience in Intensive Care Medicine as well as in Emergency Medicine within Accident & Emergency departments.
Dr. Agios completed his specialty training at the General Hospital of Attica "KAT" hospital in 2015.
From the outset of his training, he developed a particular interest in Paediatric Anaesthesia, which led him to further his expertise in the field as a Consultant at the "Agia Sophia" Children’s Hospital in September 2016, where he practised for a year and a half. Since 2018, he has been active in the private sector providing anaesthesia both in adults and children.
In 2018, Dr. Agios was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine (Phd) from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with distinction (Excellent) for his doctoral thesis titled "The Effect of Ketamine on Hippocampus Functions: An Experimental Study."
His scientific interests primarily focus on the management of acute and chronic pain in paediatric patients, regional anaesthesia (including central and peripheral nerve blocks), and the development of anaesthesiologic techniques that contribute to rapid post-operative recovery and early mobilization of patients (fast-track anaesthesia).
